Richard Umbdenstock, president and CEO of the American Hospital Association, told an industry crowd at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel that change is in the air in the hospital industry. And that means health care professionals must be even more involved in the change process.

Umbdenstock, the former CEO of Providence Health, told attendees at the lunchtime Nashville Health Care Council-sponsored event that Nashville’s health care should also resume an old conversation on how to improve the nation’s health care system.

“Everybody has a stake in this, but everybody has to participate,” Umbdenstock said.
