Working from his Vanderbilt University campus office, Sid Chambless coordinates a collaborative effort between the nonprofit Nashville Capital Network and its partners: Vanderbilt University, the Nashville Technology Council, the Nashville Health Care Council, and local investors, business people and professional leaders.

The organization helps entrepreneurs with business ventures that have the potential to attract institutional equity refine their business concepts, prepare for the fund-raising process, and raise equity capital. NCN also arranges early stage angel investment, typically in the $250,000-$1.5 million range.

Describe Nashville Capital Network in simple terms.

NCN has two parallel initiatives within one organization. The first focuses on educational and entrepreneurial assistance for the fund-raising process. The second involves a group of early stage angel investors.

What are the updated NCN numbers?

On March 7, we announced participation in [Brentwood-based] Capital Confirmation Inc., which was the sixth deal that NCN-affiliated angels have participated in since October 2003, when the organization began.
