Ralph Davis is leaving Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis to become a partner in a Chicago private investment firm that includes former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

Davis will leave his role as Waller chairman in March to join Cressey & Co., which focuses on investing in middle-market companies in the health care industry. Davis has been a partner at Waller since 1995. His practice has focused on mergers and acquisitions primarily in health care.

John Tishler, a corporate restructuring and bankruptcy attorney, has been elected chairman of Waller and will finish out Davis’ term. Tishler joined the firm in 2000 and has been involved with several high-profile bankruptcy cases, including representing large creditors in the Service Merchandise bankruptcy.
