Vanderbilt-Ingram adds Nicholson to leadership team

Barbara Nicholson has joined the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center as associate director for special initiatives. She will lead projects for the Cancer Center director including relationship management and support for the center's Board of Overseers.

Nicholson spent 17 years with the local office of the American Cancer Society in a variety of roles, including fund-raising and special events management, She also served as executive director of the society's Middle Tennessee Region from 1996-1999.

Prior to joining ACS, Nicholson worked in the banking industry as a vice president of Bankers Trust Company in New York City.

Most recently, she was director of the capital campaign, which raised more than $5 million to build the Nashville Hope Lodge.

In her new role, Nicholson works closely with Cancer Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center officials in development, public affairs and marketing, patient and community education and patient relations.

Gray launches public relations firm

Amy Gray has launched Gray Public Relations, a public relations company specializing in raising the visibility of Williamson County companies. Formerly with Katcher Vaughn & Bailey Public Relations, Gray is handling public relations and community outreach for several clients including ThriftSmart and SilverPointe Properties.

Through a partnership with J&A Partners, Gray is also assisting in new business efforts and is managing public relations for Reliant Bank and Off The Grill.

Gray is a member of the Nashville Chapter of Public Relations Society of America and received her accredited in public relations designation by PRSA's Universal Accreditation Board in 2003.

First Tennessee names 3 relationship managers

First Tennessee has named Caye Darnell, Nicole Dunigan and Doris Lynn as vice presidents and relationship managers for the company's new business development and relocation division.

Darnell joins First Tennessee after more than two decades at AmSouth Bank, where she held positions including corporate sales officer, assistant vice president of business development and relocation, and, most recently, assistant branch manager/assistant vice president.

Dunigan has seven years experience in mortgage banking at AmSouth. She was AmSouth's top producing loan officer in Tennessee and was a recipient of the Chairman's Club Award for sales performance, as well as a recipient of the Nashville Mortgage Bankers Association Gold Award in 2004.

Lynn, a 30-year banking veteran, has worked in various positions at Commerce Union Bank, Third National Bank and AmSouth. After joining AmSouth in 1998, she served as vice president of business development and private client services before being named vice president and assistant branch manager.

Tucker joins Reliant Bank as senior vice president

Reliant Bank, a new Williamson County-based community bank, has appointed Jeff Tucker as senior vice president. Within this role, Tucker will serve as mortgage manager.

Tucker has nine years of experience in mortgage lending for financial institutions and is the former relationship manager for First Tennessee Bank, where he was responsible for originating residential mortgage loans. He also served as vice president at Union Planters Bank, where he was one of the bank's top five production leaders in Middle Tennessee.

Tucker earned his PhD and master's degree from Vanderbilt University and his B.A. from the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

Industry veteran Bertoncin added to BOHAN Advertising

Tom Bertoncin, a veteran of more than 20 years in the advertising industry, has joined BOHAN Advertising|Marketing as senior vice president and will serve as the agency's director of account services.

Bertoncin, who has worked with Interpublic's Bozell Group, comes to BOHAN from Osborn & Barr Communications, where he was vice president/director of account services and general manager of its Kansas City office. He also has worked with Lida Advertising.

ADS Security announces Stitgen to join team

Joe Stitgen has joined ADS Security as director of commercial sales, marketing and training. Stitgen was previously Southeast regional manager for Ingersoll Rand/Electronic Technology Corp., Atlanta.

In his new position at ADS Security, Stitgen will direct sales and marketing of security, fire, access control and video systems to all commercial and institutional clients served by the company's offices in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. In addition, Stitgen is responsible for sales and product training at ADS, working with the company's more than 200 employees and its major suppliers, including First Alert and Honeywell.

Stitgen has 25 years of experience in the security industry. He has served as vice president of service at Rollins Protection, as a sales executive with Distribution Associates South and as Southeast regional manager of Management Systems Applications, Inc.

Stitgen is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was assigned to Operations and Intelligence.
