The new Publix center in Belle Meade welcomed another new face to the west side of town — The Wine Chap Wine & Spirits has now opened for business.
The 5,000-square-foot store, owned and operated by London native Richard Payne, has been under construction since February. Prior to open the new shop, Payne spent more than a decade at Nashville Wine & Spirits.
The store is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. More information is available at the store’s Web site, www.thewinechap.com.
More grub in The Gulch
Opening its doors last week in the ground level of The Icon tower in The Gulch was Cantina Laredo.
The Dallas-based chain offers a high-end take on Mexican fare with touches such as fresh guacamole prepared tableside. In addition to being open daily for lunch and dinner, the restaurant also offers brunch on Sundays.
Down the block from Urban Flats, the new store in The Gulch is the chain’s first Tennessee location and its 29th overall.
Dine out for ‘Life’
Finally, for those of you who want to gorge yourself on a good cause, tomorrow night marks the 7th annual Dining Out For Life fundraiser.
More than 60 restaurants around town will be participating in the event, donating a portion, and in some cases all of the proceeds, from the evening to NashvilleCARES, a nonprofit helping those living HIV/AIDS.
If you wish to help while eating well, you can wind your way to restaurants ranging from The Gold Rush and Gerst Haus, to swankier options like Miro District, Miel and Germantown Café.
