GNAR supports baseball park

The Greater Nashville Association of Realtors (GNAR) has endorsed the plan to build a new downtown baseball park for the Nashville Sounds.

The proposal has the strong backing of Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell. (At press time, the Metro Council was expected to have deferred Tuesday night a second-reading vote on the project, which would be overseen by Baltimore-based Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse Inc.)

If approved, the park would sit on the former Thermal site and would also include a mixed-use development of at least $20 million. The stadium would be built with a mix of public and private financing.
