Omni Nashville Hotel announces new appointments

Omni Hotels & Resorts has appointed Dan Piotrowski as general manager, Silvia San Martin as director of sales and Cindy Berdan as national sales manager for the Southeast region for the Omni Nashville Hotel. 

Piotrowski previously worked for the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, where he has served as general manager since 2010. Prior to that, he served as general manager for the Omni Berkshire Place in New York City from 2008-10. Piotrowski originally joined Omni Hotels & Resorts as director of operations at the Omni Los Angeles in 2005. 

Piotrowski graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor’s of science degree in hotel administration.

San Martin arrives from the Omni Houston Hotel where she held numerous positions from sales manager to area director. Prior to joining Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1998, she started her career at the Hyatt Houston.

San Martin graduated from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.

Berdan arrives from Century Park Associates in Hendersonville, where she served as sales director. Previously, Berdan held numerous sales management positions at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, as well as Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

Berdan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.

Johnson promoted to assistant vice president at Ingram Barge

Joe Johnson has been promoted to assistant vice president, coal, Ingram Barge Company.

Johnson joined Ingram in 2002 and has handled the majority of the company’s utility and export coal customer base.

Johnson is an alumnus of the University of Denver, where he received his master’s degree in transportation. He received his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University.

Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain adds three

LBMC Employment Partners, LLC, has added Kaitlin Grigsby in a client development role. Grigsby previously served in the LBMC human resources department for two years. She is a graduate of Belmont University.

Gretchen Bates has been added as a staff member with the tax department’s wealth management team. Bates previously served as a tax intern for LBMC as well as CRI. Bates is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a bachelor’s degree in drama and earned her master’s degree in accountancy from Belmont University.

Shannon Simmons has also joined the tax department, where she will be working closely with business clients in the entrepreneurial services group. Previously an accountant at Aegis Sciences Corp., she is a graduate of Belmont University with a master’s degree in accounting.

Smith Seckman Reid hires two

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc., has hired Kevin W. Hampel and Marshall Fall in its Nashville office.

Hampel joins the firm as a structural engineer. He previously worked for Structural Design Group in Nashville.

Hampel received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas.

Fall joins SSR as an engineer intern and is a recent graduate of Tennessee Technological University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Fall was previously employed as a project manager for Adenus Wastewater Solutions in Smyrna.

The A Group adds marketing VP

The A Group has added Carla Ballerini as its vice president of marketing.

Ballerini will lead the Brentwood-based company’s marketing division, providing strategic guidance, creative direction and team management.

Ballerini comes to The A Group from InsideOut Marketing, a consultation business that she founded in 2011. Previously, she worked as group vice president of marketing for Bibles, reference and curriculum at Thomas Nelson Publishers.

The A Group is a marketing and technology firm specializing in the Christian and nonprofit industries.

Parallon names Taylor CFO

Parallon Business Solutions has named Chris Taylor its chief financial officer. Taylor will report directly to CEO Michael O’Boyle.

Since 2005, Taylor had been CFO at TriStar Health, the regional hospital and outpatient network owned by HCA Holdings, which set up Parallon last year.

Taylor's promotion to Parallon is the latest in a series of executive moves at the company, which handles back-office and technology tasks both for HCA and external clients, including Brentwood-based LifePoint Hospitals.
