Skanska promotes Adams

Skanska USA has promoted Shelby Adams to director of communications for Skanska’s Midwest and Texas regions.

Adams, a Nashville native, directs the overall communications strategy for Skanska USA’s Midwest and Texas operations, including offices in Nashville, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Detroit, Cincinnati and Kalamazoo. Her previous title was regional manager of communications. In addition to her daily responsibilities, Adams also supports Skanska USA’s national diversity and inclusion, and office and project branding efforts.

“Shelby has been with Skanska for 12 years and is a valued and high-performing member of our team. Joey Hatch, Skanska co-chief operating officer, said in a release. “She is a trusted counselor for her internal clients and a strong advocate for Skanska in our region.”

Adams is a Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Ogletree Deakins adds shareholder

Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., announce today that Timothy A. Palmer has been named a shareholder in the firm’s Nashville office.

Palmer joined Ogletree Deakins as a founding shareholder in the firm’s Birmingham office in 1997. He transferred from the Birmingham office to the Nashville office this month.

Palmer specializes in both employment litigation and general civil litigation in state and federal courts. His practice focuses on the defense of employment litigation including discrimination claims, defense of personnel actions, and defense of employee benefit disputes. A frequent speaker, Palmer has lectured on jury selection procedures and employment litigation.  

Palmer earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Crosslin adds tax pro

Crosslin & Associates has hired Martin J. Satinsky as principal-in-charge of tax.

Satinsky comes to Crosslin with more than 35 years of experience in specialized tax and financial services to individuals and a wide variety of business entities.  He has worked with both regional and international accounting firms, as well as, most recently, managing his own practice. 

Satinsky holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in law and taxation from Temple University School of Law, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He holds a CPA in both Pennsylvania and Tennessee, and a certification as a personal financial specialist.

Satinsky has coauthored seven books on income and estate taxes and personal financial planning including Tools and Techniques of Financial Planning and Tools and Techniques of Income Tax Planning.

Centerstone announces board members

Centerstone Research Institute has announced the members and officers who will serve on its 2013-14 board of directors.
