Buffkin Group names partner

The Buffkin Group has named veteran institutional investment executive Nathan Brandon partner.

Brandon will help guide the firm’s new business development in the investment banking and financial services sectors, and a variety of recruiting searches regionally.

Brandon, who has more than 15 years experience in investment management, previously served as institutional sales representativewith Fifth Third Securities. During his eight years with Fifth Third, he held a variety of investment banking positions. 

“Nathan brings exceptional financial services expertise to our team, along with a strong network of executive relationships,” Craig Buffkin, managing partner of The Buffkin Group, said in a release. “We are eager to leverage his unique talents as we continue to grow The Buffkin Group and make an impact for companies across the nation.”

Prior to his move into institutional investing with Fifth Third, Brandon worked in private client wealth management, where he assisted individuals in wealth and estate planning.

Brandon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in history from the University of Tennessee.

Belle Meade Planning Commission names Hastings chair

James O. Hastings, Jr., founder of Nashville-based Hastings Architecture Associates, has been elected to a second consecutive term as chairman of the Municipal Planning Commission for the City of Belle Meade.

Hastings was a member of the commission for two years prior to serving as chairman.

“During my first chairmanship with the Planning Commission, due to a dedicated Task Force led by our vice chairman, Mark Beveridge, we were able to make changes that improve the livability and value of homes in Belle Meade,” Hastings said in a release. “I hope in my second term we can make further gains for the residents of this singular city.”

Hastings, a member of the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Board and a LEED Certified Professional, also currently serves on the Technical Advisory Committee for Tennessee’s Energy Efficient Schools Initiative.  

Crosslin announces promotions and new hires

Crosslin & Associates has announced promotions and hires in the areas of audit, tax, valuation and litigation support, and marketing.

In the audit division, Jennifer Manternach, Ben Nichols and Erica Saeger have been promoted to audit manager. Damien Wynn and Emma Munderloh have been promoted to audit supervisors. Marcus Heitor, John Hillis, Paul House, Luke Myers and Avonel Rodriguez have been promoted to audit senior. Emma DeKalb and Marianne Smith have been promoted to advanced audit team member.

In the tax division, Megan Gregali and Colin Neff have been promoted to advanced tax team member. 

In the valuation and litigation support division, Robert Eddy has been promoted to forensic valuation consultant.

In the marketing division, Kelly Flannery has been promoted to marketing coordinator.

Tim Nowak has been promoted from audit senior manager to audit director.

Recent additions to the tax division include Mark Plumlee as senior tax team member and Ashley Culpepper as tax intern.

GS&F adds staff in account management, interactive & public relations

GS&F has hired Eric Scism and Matt Napier on its interactive team, Wendy Stotsenburg in account management and Kelsea Olson in public relations.

Scism joins the interactive team as a front-end developer and search engine optimization specialist. He comes to GS&F from cj Advertising where he managed research, strategy and analysis. Prior to that, he served as director of digital marketing for Altissimo Recordings.

Napier will join the interactive team with more than 15 years of development experience. Most recently, he worked as the web development manager for Emdeon, where he worked on all phases of creation for marketing, e-learning, training and mobile sites as well as applications.

Stotsenburg rejoins GS&F as an account executive. She returns to the agency after a four-year stint as director of business development for MP Media & Promotions.

After previously serving as an intern, Olson returns to GS&F as an account coordinator in the public relations department. Olson is a graduate of the University of Georgia and most recently interned with Catalyst Public Relations in Charlotte.
