Vanhooser rejoins HFR Design

Adam Vanhooser has rejoined Hart Freeland Roberts architects and engineers as an intern architect. He will be involved in a variety of projects for the firm, working primarily in the health care division.

Vanhooser’s previous employment with HFR Design was from May 2007 to May 2009, during which time he was involved with health care, corporate and government projects.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design, Vanhooser received a master’s degree in architecture. He also received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering graphics and design from Murray State University’s College of Industrial and Engineering Technology.

Baker Donelson adds Roberts as shareholder

Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz has brought on board the former co-chair of the corporate and securities practice at regional firm Wyatt Tarrant & Combs.

Allen Roberts, who has joined the downtown office of Baker Donelson as a shareholder, concentrates his practice in general business law, mergers and acquisitions and private-equity and debt offerings.

Roberts had spent more than eight years at Wyatt, which he joined from Sherrard & Roe. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he was the research editor of the Tennessee Law Review.

LifePoint hires VP of operations

Brentwood-based LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., has hired Paul Cleckner, former Medical Reimbursements of America president and COO, to oversee its strategic business initiatives.

Cleckner’s title is vice president of operations and process initiatives.

Before his time at MRA, Cleckner worked with North Highland Consulting’s Strategic Growth Services practice group in Nashville. He also was once president and COO of Investment Scorecard and held a senior VP post at Emdeon Business Services.

Siskind Susser adds labor law attorney

Siskind Susser has added attorney Bruce E. Buchanan to its Nashville office.

A former partner at King & Ballow, Buchanan will represent employers and individuals in all aspects of immigration law as well as employers in employment/labor law matters. His expertise within immigration law is employer compliance, and he has assisted clients with matters related to Immigration & Customs Enforcement audits.

Buchanan received his law degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1982 and his undergraduate degree in 1979 from Florida State University, where he graduated magna cum laude. Before going into private practice nine years ago,  Buchanan served as senior trial specialist for the National Labor Relations Board for 20 years as well as an adjunct professor at William H. Bowen University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law.

Buchanan is past chair of the Tennessee Bar Association's Immigration Law Section as well as the current editor of TBA's Labor and Employment Law Section Newsletter and the TBA's Immigration Law Section Newsletter.

Shareholder hires senior VP

Shareholder InSite has hired David LaFontaine as a client development senior vice president.

LaFontaine’s focus will be to attract new and retain existing customers for the Nashville-based shareholder management software developer and valuation company.

Most recently, LaFontaine worked as vice president of the Customer Resource Group at Franklin-based Cybera. LaFontaine served as vice president of account management and training at Investment Scorecard prior to that entity’s 2007 acquisition by Informa Investment Solutions. A number of investment Scorecard alums, led by CEO Joe Maxwell, are now at Shareholder InSite.
