InsBank adds VP to focus on music industry clients

Ed Theis has joined Nashville-based community bank InsBank as vice president and relationship manager.

Theis will lead InsBank’s expansion into the music industry while maintaining primarily commercial client relationships and generating new business.

Previously, Theis was a vice president and client advisor in the sports and entertainment specialty group at SunTrust. He also once served as vice president and relationship manager at Fifth Third Bank.

“InsBank continues to grow its commercial base of business and often intersects with clients in the music industry, so it made sense for us to add a relationship manager dedicated to serving and growing that sector,” Jim Rieniets, InsBank president and chief executive officer, said in a release.

Vanderbilt names treasurer

Vanderbilt University has named Trey Beasley its treasurer, effective Friday, Dec. 21.

A VU graduate, Beasley most recently served the university as senior financial manager.

Beasley joined the Vanderbilt finance team in 2007 after a 16-year career with JPMorgan Chase and its predecessor banks in Texas. During the past few years, he led the development of Vanderbilt’s cash management function into a comprehensive treasury operation that university officials describe as “preeminent” among VU’s peer institutions.

Beasley graduated from Vanderbilt in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, magna cum laude, and earned an MBA from the University of Texas in 1992. In addition, he holds the certified treasury professional designation.

“Trey’s experience and knowledge of Vanderbilt is a tremendous asset to the university as we move forward with efforts to steward our resources in the most effective manner in support of our academic priorities,” said Brett Sweet, VU vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer.
