Music City job listings increased in the month of August, according to statistics from, a comprehensive search engine for job hunters.

Job listings per 1,000 population increased from 12.0 in July to 12.8 in August. Currently, there are 16,722 job listings for Nashville and surrounding communities in the Indeed job index.

Computer and hi-tech related job listings remained at 2.5 per 1,000 between July and August. Health care related openings also remained steady at 1.3 per 1,000 from July to August. Construction related job listings increased from 1.2 per 1,000 in July to 1.4 in August, and manufacturing job listings remained at 0.8 per 1,000 from July to August. Music industry job listings also remained at 0.1 per 1,000 population for both July and August.

The Indeed Web site adds more than 110,000 new U.S. jobs per day. Its search engine includes jobs from more than 1,000 unique sources, encompassing company career pages, major and niche job boards, national and regional newspapers, and hundreds of associations. Indeed indexes all new jobs from each source every day.
