A 17-year-old Cane Ridge High School student was arrested Monday morning for having a loaded .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol in his parked car on campus, according to Metro police.

The ninth-grader entered the building smelling of marijuana and was pulled out of class by an assistant principal. School administrators searched the student and his car, where they reported finding a gun in a pocket behind the driver’s seat.

The student claimed he did not know the gun was in the vehicle.

A 17 year-old ninth grader?

I hope this is a typo, but I must echo adchick, "A 17 year old ninth grader?"

With this track record, he could be very popular as a senior, being the only one able to legally buy alcohol. Just be held back once the possibility becomes very real.

Actually, depending on his birthdate, the situation may already be a reality.

I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

What do you think this Cain Ridge High School African-American 3rd year ninth-grader did with his time during the last two weeks while Metro schools was on their two week break? And how 'bout the safety of those innocent fourteen-year-old ninth graders who are forced to attend class with this "achiever"?

Reckon why the markings on the weapon were filed off? Will the fed's come in and charge him, also? They're supposed to. Folks, these are the type guns that Obama has no interest in. He, Biden and Feinstein only want complete registration of legal guns. They have no way to control ANYTHING concerning all the illegal guns out there. This student's semi-auto was probaly taken in a home or auto burglary. Looks like this kid will be eligible for greater crimes once he gets his hand slapped by Metro Juvenile Court.
