A 17-year-old boy is dead following a fatal shooting at his home on Vanderhorst Drive Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, a neighbor found DeMarcus Jordan-Ellis’ body in the front yard of the victim’s home at about 3 p.m. Wednesday shortly after hearing gunshots.
Just before the shooting, a neighbor alerted Jordan-Ellis to a car parked in front of Jordan-Ellis’ home. The 17-year-old indicated that he knew who was in the car — a gold sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala or Dodge Charger — and approached it to talk to the occupants.
A short time later, the car was seen leaving the area following gunshots.
Police urge anyone with information on the person/persons responsible for the fatal shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
