The entrance to the short-term parking garage at Nashville International Airport is moving temporarily to accommodate construction on the new rental car facility.

Effective this week, the entrance will be moved approximately 50 feet farther from the current entrance, according to Metro Nashville Airport Authority. The path to enter the short-term parking garage will not change, and signage will direct travelers to the new entrance.

The entrance move is temporary and should return to the regular location in about a month.

Construction on the 900,000-square-foot consolidated rental car facility began in February and is expected to be completed in November 2011. Moving car rentals out of the current short-term garage will free up 600 covered parking spaces for airport customers.
