Drugs and money may be behind a fatal shooting late Wednesday night that killed 27-year-old Calvin Davis Jr.
The police investigation into what they are calling an apparent drug deal/robbery so far has yet to identify two men who detectives believe Davis met around 10:45 p.m. in a breezeway at the Noah’s Landing apartment complex on Murfreesboro Pike. There, the three men got into an argument and shots were fired.
Davis was hit during the shooting and was able to run a short distance away before he collapsed. A gun was found near Davis’ body, police said, and a small bag of marijuana was also found in the breezeway.
Metro police ask anyone with information on the case to call Hermitage Precinct Detective Andrew Injaychock at 862-6993 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
