Metro Police say a verbal altercation may have led to a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon in East Nashville.
Harold Eugene Newsome, 25, was allegedly arguing with another man outside a family member's apartment in a courtyard of the James Cayce public housing development when the other man pulled a gun.
The suspect fired several shots at Newsome, who died on the scene, according to police.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his 20s with dreadlocks. He was wearing a white shirt and black jeans at time of the incident.
Anyone who has information concerning Newsome’s murder is urged to contact East Precinct detectives at 862-7525 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
Hummm another murder in a public housing complex in Nashville. Have to wonder what ACORN's relationship is with MDHA in placing these criminals in public housing places illegally?
ACORN? Give it a rest!
That is irrelevant as is your comment about criminals in housing. It does not say that the resident, Newsome, was a criminal.
eastnashville, if you look it up, Newsome only has a couple of misdemeanors on his record. making some mighty big assumptions, aren't we?
