Bank robbed at knifepoint

Metro Police released this surveillance video footage of the Fifth Third Bank robbery suspect.

Metro Police and the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man who robbed a south Nashville bank late Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, who police say was armed with a knife, allegedly approached a teller at Fifth Third Bank’s 1311 Bell Road branch at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and demanded money. The teller complied, and the robber fled on foot, according to police.

Police describe the suspect as a white man who is approximately
6-feet, 4-inces tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a camouflage mask over a ball cap and a hooded FOX racing sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about the bank robbery is urged to contact the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-Crime. Am I hallucinating or does the sweatshirt say something OTHER than FOX? It almost looks like an "R" between the letters of F and X.... Hey, I'm just sayin'....
