Staff reports

Search crews from the Metro Fire Department recovered the body of a dead man near the Jefferson Street Bridge around 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

The man is not considered to be a flood victim.

According to fire department spokesperson Kim Lawson, the body’s description matches a man who committed suicide last Thursday after jumping from Korean Veterans bridge.

Rescue and search crews are still looking for 39-year-old Danny Tomlinson, whose vehicle was discovered in Bellevue after Nashville’s historic flooding earlier this month.

Yesterday, the body of 18-year-old Daniel Brown was discovered near Mill Creek. The number of flood casualties in Nashville stands at 10.

Public thank you to those who have spent so many days and hours looking for the 2 who were missing. Hopefully the 2nd will be found soon! This writer certainly not skeptical of efforts and agencies hard work over last couple of weeks!!!

gov, our town pulled together remarkably well. I noticed on the news last night that some finger pointing is about to start regarding "rain predictions" and "levels of rain". Like, well, who can really tell what's going to happen?

To say that this is a 1000 year rain and won't happen again for a 1000 years is rather presumptious, I'd say. Who knows? It could just rain worse next time. I hope not!

Have a good day.
