The Nashville Kats have moved Ron Carpenter back to defensive specialist, where he is expected to be more effective as both a big-play man on defense in addition to his kickoff return abilities.

Carpenter has three interceptions this season and has also caught 10 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown as a wide receiver. But his team-leading 21.4-yard average on kickoff returns is one of the reasons Kats coach Pat Sperduto has relieved Carpenter of his duties on offense.
