Clarksville man indicted in fatal head-on collision

Johnny Lee Kindle, 45, of Clarksville, is facing vehicular homicide and vehicular assault in connection with a March 24 head-on collision on Interstate 24 near Old Hickory Boulevard northwest of downtown, Metro Police said.

Kindle was arrested on a Davidson County grand jury indictment.

In the crash, Kindle was allegedly driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer the wrong way on the interstate when he collided with a Nissan Altima being driven by Kelley Beard of Bettendorf, Iowa.

Beard, 33, was killed. Her husband/passenger, Mark McQuate, 45, was injured, as was Kindle.

Kindle was arrested at his Randell Drive home in Clarksville. His bond is set at $75,000.

Good grief. Can't the City Paper give us a little more info than this? Was the man DUI or what? Is there no explanation as to why he was driving down the wrong side of the road? Any lawsuits being filed?

What a waste of bandwidth space and paper if this is all we get.
