Local immigrants may have access to a full-service Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) sub-office in Nashville when U.S. Rep. Bob Clement introduces a piece of legislation that would allow funding for the facility.
The stand-alone legislation, which is currently before the legislative council, will be introduced in the 107th Congress after it reconvenes Feb. 5, said Clement press secretary Christie Ray. The legislation states the amount needed to establish the office and run it each year is $5 million.
