Nashvillians still rebuilding their homes or businesses following May’s flood can have their building permit fees waived through the end of this year.

Offering some financial relief, Metro Publics Works has not been charging traditional fees to flood victims applying for building permits. The waiver deadline, though, technically expired at the end of June.

The Metro Council last night approved an ordinance to extend the deadline through Dec. 31.

Council members Eric Crafton and Rip Ryman were the lead sponsors of the bill.
