Ramsey, Mr. Dillard Dale

Mr. Dillard Dale Ramsey, 76, died Jan. 15, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Robert (Bob) and Alice Lou Ledbetter Ramsey; one brother; and five sisters. Survivors include wife, Mildred Ramsey, Crawford, Tenn; eight children, Jessie and Charlene Ramsey of the Vine Ridge Community; Herbert and Brenda Ramsey, Crawford, Tenn.; Gary and Anna Ruth Ramsey, Crawford, Tenn.; Charlotte and Sam Patton, Crossville, Tenn.; Brenda and Steve Ramsey of the Banner Springs Community; Roxie and Grady Phillips of the Sunk Cane Community; Connie and Gerald Richards, Grimsley, Tenn.; and Janice and Charles Miller of the Vine Ridge Community; sisters, Ellen Morgan of the Vine Ridge Community; and June Rooch, Dayton, Ohio; aunt, Bessie Morgan, Sparta, Tenn.; special nephews, J.H. Hall, Monterey, Tenn.; and Dwayne Morgan, Crawford, Tenn.; and special family friend, Bessie Harvey of the Highland Community. Mr. Ramsey had many nieces and nephews as well as 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ramsey, Seth Miller, Russell Phillips, Dylan Richards, J.H. Hall and Dwayne Morgan. Mr. Ramsey was born in Overton County, was a member of Vines Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, worked as a coal miner, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Vine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Crawford, Tenn., with a military service burial at Phillips Cemetery in the Hanging Limb Community. The Rev. David Phillips and the Rev. Alvin Copeland will officiate.

Johncox, Hazel Alice

LIVINGSTON

Hazel Alice Johnson, 97, died Jan. 15, 2001, at Spring City Healthcare in Spring City, Tenn. Mrs. Johnson was a housewife and was born in Onsted, Mich. She was preceded in death by husband, the late Duane Johnson; daughter, Janice Bournes; parents, Roy and Anna Clarke Winters; brothers, Harold and Harlan Winters; and sisters, Erma Burdeno and Kate Butts. Survivors include six grandchildren, Debbie Gautz, Cartage, Mo.; Bill Bournes, Allred, Tenn.; Steve Bournes, Allred, Tenn.; Colleen Mitchell Lane, Allred, Tenn.; Karen Bournes, Spring City, Tenn.; and Julie Tade, Hestand, Ky.; brother, Charles Winters of Florida; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home, 300 N. Church St., Livingston, Tenn., with burial at Allred. The Rev. Aron Dillon will officiate.

Scott, Winifred Fay

MONROE

Mrs. Winifred Fay Scott, 73, died Jan. 15, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by husband, the late Raymond Scott; and parents, Lawrence and Martha Reeser White. Survivors include son, Danny (Brenda) Scott, Monroe, Tenn.; daughter, Debbie Trotter of Georgia; and brothers, Wilton L. Wright of Arkansas; Kenneth Wright, Nashville, Tenn.; Duane Wright, Livingston, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Danielle Scott, Natalie Trotter, Trey Trotter and Caroling Trotter. Mrs. Scott was born in Overton County, was a member of McDonalds Chapel United Methodist Church, a nurse at Livingston Regional Hospital and a member of Livingston Order of the Eastern Star. Her remains rest at Chapel of Speck Funeral Home, 300 N. Church St., Livingston, Tenn., where services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17. Interment will be held at Beaty Cemetery with the Rev. Eugene McCowan officiating.

Mrs. Jessie E. Gimes, 91, died Jan 11, 2001. Survived by loving and devoted husband, Felix Grimes, Sr., children, Lula May (Ralph) Butler, Rebecca (Eugene T.) Dotson, Felix (Patricia) Grimes, Leon Grimes, Eleanor Price, Edward Grimes; 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; sister, Frances Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation 11 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday, Jan 17, 2001, at Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, 1014 14th Avenue North. Funeral to follow, Dr. Edward E. Buford, Pastor. Entombment in Greenwood West Mausoleum.
