The Metro Nashville Police Department has charged one of its own, an eight-year veteran of the force, with misdemeanor domestic assault.

The charge came Thursday night to decommissioned Metro officer Ernest Wilson for allegedly shoving his wife during a dispute as she was holding a box full of pictures inside the couple’s home on May 13.

According to the MNPD, Wilson’s wife reported the incident to the Domestic Violence Division on June 12, and Wilson was decommissioned that day pending further investigation.

The MNPD Office of Professional Accountability is conducting a separate but parallel investigation into the incident.

Wilson, 43, was last assigned to the North Precinct.

As a taxpayer I demand his suspended salary returned to its rightful owners.

Drama! Who does he think he is putting his hands on anybody? I'm so glad she reported his @$$ before his abuse gets worse than a shove. I hope she left him.

Yet another quality example of the people hired by MNPD.
