Metro police arrested a man and woman Wednesday after the two allegedly startled a delivery man during an apparent burglary at a home in the 5300 block of Tidwell Hollow Road in Bells Bend.

Police took Matthew Campbell and Mindi Mercer, both 23, into custody without incident. Police said the pair admitted their involvement in the burglary. A third man is being sought.

According to police, the delivery man was attempting to make a delivery to the residence when Campbell allegedly walked out of the house with a television set and a gun. Upon seeing the delivery man, Campbell dropped the TV and drove off in a silver Toyota Camry with Mercer, who had been acting as a lookout.

The delivery man immediately notified police and gave a description of the suspects and getaway car. North Precinct officers stopped the Camry soon thereafter on West Greenwood Road.

Campbell, of Stilton Drive, has a previous conviction for aggravated assault. Campbell and Mercer, both of Whites Creek Pike, are being held in lieu of $74,999 bond each.
