Detectives in East Nashville are asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed the Community Market in December.

Metro police are looking for a suspect who walked into the market at 336 East Trinity Lane around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 with a gun and stole money from the cash register before fleeing on foot.

He is described as a 6-foot-2-inch-tall black man weighing about 180 pounds. He had graying facial hair and wore a Rocawear T-shirt at the time of the robbery. Police believe he may have committed other East Nashville robberies while wearing a pantyhose over his face.

Police ask anyone who recognizes the suspect, or has information concerning robberies involving the suspect, to call East Precinct detectives at 862-7525 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Citizens can also text a tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” and their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com. Persons can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
