Detectives work to ID suspect in fatal East Nashville shooting

Detectives in East Nashville are working to develop both a suspect and a motive in Thursday night’s fatal shooting of 33-year-old Terrance Ross.

The shooting occurred outside of a duplex at 939 Thomas Ave. just before 11 p.m. According to police, Ross had just parked his vehicle nearby and got out of it when someone approached him and shot him in the hip.

Ross was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died Friday morning, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or text the word “CASH” along with any information to 274637 (CRIMES).
