A north Nashville driver crashed while taking a dying gunshot victim to a north Nashville hospital overnight, Metro Police said.
Detectives are still investigating the apparently drug-related fatal shooting of Maurice Owens, 27, inside 1609 Hampton St.
A friend was driving Owens to Skyline Medical Center when the driver lost control of the vehicle on Dickerson Pike at Interstate 65.
Police responded at 10:15 p.m. Owens was transported by ambulance to Skyline Medical Center where he died.
Police said evidence of cocaine and drug paraphernalia was located inside the Hampton Street residence.
Owens, of Westchester Drive, is a twice-convicted felon for cocaine possession.
