Tonight at a public hearing, the Metro Council will hear about Bill No. BL 2001-607. This bill will provide the protection of Historic Landmark District zoning to the Eakin and Cavert School buildings.

Why is this bill so important?

Nashville does not have a particularly good track record of honoring and protecting its old buildings. Each of you can think of at least one former landmark that no longer exists. This bill offers a chance to protect and preserve two unique buildings that are important to their community.
