Metro Police are investigating the early morning robbery of an 84-year-old man inside his Oak Hill home Monday.

The elderly man told police he heard a noise in another room of his Morriswood Drive home about 1 a.m. When he went to investigate, a masked man pointed a shotgun at him, police said.

The man told police he recognized the weapon as his own shotgun, which he kept in a closet.

The victim, who said he was forced into a bedroom and tied up, was able to free himself and call police.

Police say the suspect fled in the victim’s light blue 1987 Lincoln Town Car. It bears Tennessee license plate number 692-NGT.
