As expected, Romney wins TN — and its 11 electoral votes

Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 8:09pm

As expected, Tennessee voted resoundingly for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney despite President Barack Obama's re-election.

The former Massachusetts governor secured the Volunteer State's 11 electoral votes in a comprehensive victory.

Romney bested President Barack Obama across the state, with the Democratic incumbent winning traditional strongholds in Nashville and Memphis, plus a smattering of rural counties in southwest Tennessee.

Unlike its neighbors Virginia and North Carolina, Tennessee was never really a factor in the election, with both candidates largely ignoring the state spending precious little money and holding an insignificant number of campaign events here.

Obama won Davidson County handily with nearly 60 percent of the vote.

My father told me back in 1954. "What those people on the Supreme Court do not understand, it is not about skin color, it is about culture." "Sometime in the future therr will have to be a broader definition of racism or a culture change by the blacks."

He died before he got a chance to see how his prophesy turned out.

Once again proud of Davidson County!

Oh yeah... Rasputin72, whenever I see a quote that starts with "it is not about skin color" and ends with "by the blacks" reasonable people immediately see it for what it is... and it is all about skin color for your deceased dad and for you. Sad....

OLDHICKORYTONY.......I have no quarrel with anything you say. culture seems to follow skin color.

Of course, Mitt won TN. TN has become brain-dead. When the GOP led Legislative takes everyone's rights away and destroys public education, I hope you are happy with your hate-filled elected officers.

Remember everybody, we are one nation under a groove.

Big sock. Didn't mean dick in the long run. Let Mitt have the greedy, xenophobic, superstitious masses in the south. I'm happy to live here in a blue oasis among them.
