Former Robertson County commissioner and state board member Edward Shannon Polen, set to go on trial later this month on charges of theft and securities fraud, pleaded guilty to two counts of each Wednesday.

A grand jury indicted Polen last year on three counts of theft of property of $60,000 or more, and six counts of securities fraud. The remaining counts were dismissed as part of the plea arrangement. Polen’s sentencing date on the state charges is set for June 14.

Federal prosecutors also charged Polen with 13 counts including bank fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering in January. His trial in that case has been reset for December.
