A teen who escaped from state foster care custody Monday evening was arrested shortly afterward for allegedly breaking into a Battery Lane home.

A man called police around 8 p.m. Monday to report the teen, whom police identified as 18-year-old Tyler Moss, had thrown a brick into a window of a neighboring home in the 900 block of Battery Lane.

Police later arrested Moss on Lealand Lane, based on the neighbor’s description of the suspect.

About an hour and a half earlier, police said Moss ran away from state foster care custody at the Monroe Harding Children’s Home on nearby Glendale Lane.

Moss faces aggravated burglary and escape charges, and is being held on $35,000 bond.
