The four people accused of beating a 63-year-old man with a baseball bat and robbing him inside the Dillard’s parking garage at The Mall at Green Hills were arraigned in Davidson County Criminal Court on Wednesday.
Bobby Tice Jr., Catherine Mills, Johnathon Harris and Brittney Bannister each pled not guilty to charges of especially aggravated assault, stemming from the March 3 incident.
The foursome was allegedly in the parking garage area looking to rob shoppers for drug money, according to police reports. The victim, Bob DeMoss, reportedly was walking toward the mall when Tice approached him from behind and then, according to police, hit him several times in the head with a baseball bat.
DeMoss suffered extensive injuries and his family has sued Dillard’s for not providing sufficient security or lighting in the parking area.
The foursome was apprehended at separate times in the days following the alleged attack.
