Davidson County’s early voting sites for the August election will be no longer include a Green Hills location. In its place, a Belle Meade voting site has been designated.
The Davidson County Election Commission voted earlier this month to finalize earlier voting sites for the Aug. 2 election, which includes state primaries and Metro school board races.
All early voting sites will remain the same as the most recent election cycle, except in the western part of Davidson County. The commission decided to no longer use the Green Hills Library for an early voting site, opting instead to hold early voting at the Belle Meade City Hall.
“The Belle Meade site was popular, so we’re going back there,” Davidson County Elections Administrator Albert Tieche said. “The Green Hills site, although popular, had a lot of parking and traffic problems. This also gets us a little closer to Bellevue.”
Leading up to the Aug. 2 election, the election commission’s office on Second Avenue downtown will function as an early voting site for the entire early voting period.
Five satellite locations, which includes the Belle Meade City Hall, will serve as early voting sites from July 23 through July 28.
