Staff reports

A morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer is expected to continue into rush hour tonight. All eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Fesslers Lane exit are closed.

Officials hope to open one lane eastbound coming from the Second Avenue exit and one lane eastbound coming off the Silliman Evans before 4 p.m. The wreck occurred at about 11 a.m. near mile marker 211.

Eastbound traffic from downtown is being rerouted on Interstate 65 South to Interstate 440, around the crash.

An attempt this afternoon to right the truck failed.

Tennessee Department of Transportation officials hope to have the road reopened by 8 p.m.

The driver of the truck, which was carrying grapes, has been transported to a local hospital for treatment.
