Investigation reveals two fires were the result of arson

Two early morning fires earlier this week in the Smith Springs and Anderson roads area were intentionally set, according to arson investigators.

Firefighters responded to the first of the two fires at 4:33 Wednesday morning at 2201 Smith Springs Road where a hay barn was heavily engulfed in flames.

Shortly afterward, at 5:09 a.m., a bus was found on fire at the Priest Lake Community Baptist Church at Anderson Road and Smith Springs.

According to the Nashville Fire Department, no injuries were reported, and it is unknown if the fires are related. The department encouraged anyone with information about the fires to call Crime Stoppers at 74-Crime or the Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017.
