Jackson Day draws candidates

Candidates for governor worked the crowd of yellow-dog Democrats hard at the annual Jackson Day celebration Saturday at Opryland.

Tens of thousands of votes were at stake, the friends and allies of the 800-plus (estimated) party faithful who attended. Jackson Day is an annual celebration of Andrew Jackson, a Tennessean and founder of the national Democratic Party.
