A Davidson County Criminal Court jury Wednesday morning found Lesergio Wilson guilty in the April 2010 fatal shooting of Usama Younan Shehata, a clerk at an East Nashville market.
After just 30 minutes of deliberation, the jury convicted Wilson, 25, on first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. The murder conviction carries an automatic life sentence.
Shehata, 35, died during a robbery outside of the Smoke Depot on Porter Road. He was walking to his car after locking up the market for the night when he was shot and killed.
A sentencing hearing on Wilson’s especially aggravated robbery conviction is set for Dec. 13. Judge Cheryl Blackburn will determine at that time whether the two sentences will be served consecutively or at the same time.
Wilson still faces a separate murder charge in the October 2009 shooting death of David Hurst inside Hurst’s mobile home on Old Trinity Lane.
