Man facing 24 child sex charges

A former Franklin resident is behind bars in Williamson County facing charges he had allegedly had inappropriate sexual activity with children, Franklin Police said.

Police say they began investigating Jeffrey Rich in December 2008 when allegations of sexual activity with two children surfaced.

Rich, 41, who now lives in Chesterfield, Mo., lived at 1001 Wyndham Hill Lane in Franklin when the investigation began.

A Williamson County grand jury indicted Rich on Dec. 7 on 24 counts of sex-related charges. He faces multiple counts of sexual activity with a minor, aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery by an authority figure and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Rich was arrested in Missouri on Dec. 11 and extradicted to Franklin where he was booked into the Williamson County Jail today on $100,000 bond.

If he is guilty, I hope they throw the book at him. I have no use for any person involved in this kind of horrific activity.
