Ronald Roseman pleaded guilty Monday for his role in the shooting death of 12-year-old Mikia Woodland in July 2009.

Roseman, who was 17 at the time, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and will serve a 20-year sentence without possibility of parole, according to a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.

Roseman and several other men kicked in the door to the residence of Woodland’s grandmother on July 9, 2009. Woodland was shot and killed when she went to see what was happening.

Ralphael Turner, Justin Howard, Jeffrey Dale Foxx and Cedric Peppers all still have pending charges in the case, but their trial dates haven’t been set.

I know this may seem a light sentence considering he murdered a child but they needed him to rat out the others. It may not look that way but essentially this is life without parole and he will die in prison. Killing a child is bad enough then compounding by squealing on your buddies for a lighter sentence makes Mr. Roseman an easy target for lifers.

@spooky24
he did not snitch on anyone since you know so much. the little girl grandmother identified the rest of the guys not him that why his sentence is 20yrs. the other guys werer pointing the finger at him and sayin he was the shooter hoping they would get off easy. but that was not the case and thanks to a good lawyer and the da and makia's grandmother that was not the case. he will not die in jail and you should keep you thoughts to yourself unless you know the facts. The rest of the guys will get life but the were the one who snitched.
