A 34-year-old man was shot to death during an apparent burglary attempt in his south Nashville apartment late Monday night.

The man, identified as Christopher Poullard, returned home from a trip to the grocery with his girlfriend, who told police that they and a friend who had been waiting outside the apartment, encountered a burglar or burglars inside the apartment at 308 Plus Park Boulevard.

Shots were exchanged between Poullard and whoever was inside, and Poullard was hit in the abdomen.

Police are still working to identify who shot Poullard.

Um...shouldn't this read: "A 34-year-old man was shot to death during an apparent burglary attempt in A (not his) south Nashville apartment"..? The perp (now deceased) was not the resident of that unit.

Is that a teardrop tattoo next to his right eye. Just what is it that stands for in gang language? Now that the New Orleans flash is gone maybe the gangs will be run out of town.

What a sad sad day, when you love some one as a friend you should never cause any harm to them. My friend did not have to die in vain by the hands of his so call friend that was the watched dog for his thug buddies that ransacked his (Poullard's) home while he was at the store, not only that but allowed him to enter as if nothing was going on inside the resident.
