Metro to offer free H1N1 shots at weekend clinics

The Metro Public Health Department will hold two community clinics on Saturday, Dec. 5, offering H1N1 flu shots to anyone seeking the shot.

The community walk-in clinics will be held at the Hartman Park community center, 2801 Tucker Road in the Bordeaux/north Nashville area, and at Hickory Hollow Mall.

Health Department nurses will offer 750 H1N1 flu shots and 250 doses of the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hartman Park community center.

The Health Department will offer 750 H1N1 flu shots and 250 doses of FluMist from 2-7 p.m. at a clinic at Hickory Hollow Mall, on the Mall’s upper level near the food court.

Both the H1N1 flu shot and FluMist nasal spray are free.

The H1N1 FluMist nasal spray vaccine is offered only to persons age 2-49 who have no underlying health conditions and are not pregnant.

H1N1 FluMist and H1N1 injectable vaccine are also offered at the Metro Public Health Department’s Lentz Public Health Center, 311 23rd Ave. N., Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
