Minimum standards sought for commercial properties

Metro will have the power to force owners of dilapidated commercial property to bring buildings up to a minimum standard under a proposal by Councilman-at-large David Briley.

Commercial property has been exempt from building standards since Metro codes, which now only apply to residential properties, were first implemented in 1963.
