Metro Nashville Police Department officials said Thursday the body recovered from the Cumberland River Tuesday afternoon has been positively identified through dental records as missing person Richard Lee Owens.
Owens, 59, had exhibited signs of depression prior to his disappearance. He was last seen on Feb. 2 at an East Nashville pawnshop near his home.
Officials said there was no visible trauma to Owens’ body, which might have suggested foul play. The Office of the Davidson County Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death.
