The remnants of early morning thunderstorms likely will affect playing conditions, parking and traffic for tonight’s final Titans preseason game at LP Field.
Downtown workers and Titans fans are being urged to devise travel and parking plans much earlier than the scheduled 7 p.m. kickoff for the game against the Green Bay Packers. That’s because at 4:30 p.m., the Woodland Street Bridge will close to regular traffic and be available only to pedestrians and shuttle buses. Downtown workers and other motorists making the commute home Thursday will get to their destinations quicker by avoiding the congestion around LP Field, officials said.
Fans traveling downtown for the game and who normally park in state employee lots on game days will not have access to those lots Thursday evening until 5 p.m., when they are vacated by state workers.
Additional downtown-area parking information can be found here.
LP Field gates will open at 5 p.m. Thursday. Stadium parking lots will open at 3 p.m. to Titans fans with parking passes. Football fans are reminded that only persons with parking passes will be allowed to park on the stadium campus.
The Titans open the regular season next Thursday in Pittsburgh in a nationally televised contest with the defending Super Bowl champs.
