Director of Schools James Turbeville met with Sylvan Park neighbors after they expressed concern about the alternative school at Cohn Adult Learning Center.

Many Sylvan Park neighbors only recently became aware of the program, which according to Dr. Aldorothy Wright, assistant superintendent for ninth through adult, has been in place since 1995.

Turbeville said most of the students were drug offenders and other non-violent offenders.
