Nashville Electric Service had about 2,800 customers without power as of 4:40 Wednesday afternoon.
The number was down from about 3,950 customers without power as of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. That number is down from 27,000 customers who lost power following the severe thunderstorms that passed through Nashville early Tuesday morning.
The areas experiencing the most outages include East Nashville and Inglewood. Crews are working to replace 30 broken poles, and that number may increase as the crews continue to remove tree damage today. If work goes as planned, NES hopes to have power restored to the majority of customers Wednesday and the remaining customers on Thursday.
