Metro Police may be one step closer to finding out what happened to a woman found murdered in an Antioch hotel after a parolee wanted for questioning was arrested in Memphis in connection with a series of armed robberies.

Jason Mitchell Ward, 30, was identified as a person of interest April 7 in the March 30 murder of Debbie Lynn Shearer at the Holiday Inn on Crossings Place in Antioch.

Police say they strongly believe Ward to have information about Shearer's death.

Metro detectives will be in Memphis this week to follow up on the murder investigation. Ward was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Monday.

Arrest warrants charging Ward with parole violation and theft are on file in Nashville.

Ward was paroled after serving time for Shelby County theft convictions.

Ahh...a parolee. Looks like we didn't rehab him long enough. Let's stick him back in for a few years, parole him again and let him out to see if the outcome is any different.
